Competencia y regulación financiera

En este trabajo se analiza el efecto del desarrollo de los intermediarios financieros no bancarios (shadow banks) sobre el poder de mercado bancario, a partir de una muestra de 5.077 bancos procedentes de 27 países durante el período 2009-2023.

La rápida subida de los tipos de interés debe entenderse como un proceso de normalización de la política monetaria tras una larga etapa de tipos negativos.

La gestión de la crisis sanitaria desatada por la COVID-19 ha tenido un impacto muy relevante en la regulación del sistema financiero y de la economía en su conjunto.

Empieza a ser un lugar común señalar cómo a la crisis financiera de finales de la primera década del siglo contribuyó, entre otras muchas otras circunstancias, una deficiente política prudencial de supervisión en relación a las entidades de crédito. Este trabajo busca presentar algunos de los cambios normativos que tras la crisis financiera de 2008 han sido incorporados en materia de configuración orgánica de las entidades de crédito y de la supervisión de su cumplimiento.
