En este trabajo se considera el posible uso de la imposición ambiental sobre las actividades turísticas. El artículo se inicia con una breve enumeración de experiencias con impuestos ambientales, que dan paso a la descripción del impuesto eco-turístico propuesto por la comunidad balear. A continuación se presentan algunas pautas para evaluar la incidencia de figuras de esta naturaleza y se avanzan algunos de sus efectos. Finalmente, el trabajo concluye postulando una extensión de la imposición ambiental genérica al mundo turístico y presentando varios resultados preliminares para el caso español. -------------------------------------------------- In this article we consider the possible use of the "green" tax on tourist activities. The article starts off with a brief lis of experiences with environment taxes, followed by a description of the eco-tourist tax proposed by the autonomous government of the Balearic Islands. We then set forth some guidelines for evaluating the incidence of figures of this kind and we anticipate some of its effects. Lastly, the article concludes by postulating an extension of the generic environment taxation to the tourist world and presenting various preliminary results for the Spanish case.
