Las cajas de ahorros: estrategia y estructura

Las entidades financieras están sufriendo una serie de cambios estratégicos a medida que se modifican las reglas de la competencia y las exigencias de los clientes. Estos nuevos requisitos deben traducirse en cambios de índole interna si se pretende que realmente sean satisfechos. El paso de una banca centrada en los procesos, donde todas las entidades ofertan lo mismo de la misma manera, a una banca del conocimiento exige movilizar todos los recursos y capacidades internas de las entidades. Este trabajo pretende conocer en qué punto de esa evolución se encuentran las cajas de ahorros españolas. Para ello, a lo largo del mismo se apuntarán algunas de las características de la estructura y procesos internos de las cajas de ahorros españolas a partir de los resultados de una encuesta realizada entre ellas.

The financial institutions are undergoing a series of strategic alterations in reponse to the changing rules of competition and clients' needs. These new requirements should be reflected in innovations of an internal nature if we really want them to be met. The changeover from process-oriented banking, where all theinstitutions offer the same thing in the same way, toknowledge-based banking calls for the deployment of all the resources and internal capabilities of the institutions. The aim of this study is find out how far the Spanish savings banks have developed in this respect. For this purpose, in the course of the study we point out a few of the features of the structure and internal processes of the Spanish savings banks on the basis of a survey conducted amongst them.
