En este trabajo, se hace una breve descripción del sistema impositivo español, examinándose su estructura ylos rasgos más destacados del modelo fiscal europeo al que pertenece. Así mismo, se analizan sus niveles impositivos y fiscales, tanto de forma global como para cada una de sus principales figuras impositivas, comparándolos con los de los países más representativos de la Unión Europea y los Estados Unidos.--------------------------------------------------This article offers a brief outline of the Spanish fiscal system, while examining its structure and the most salient features of the European tax model to which it belongs. At the same time we analyse its taxation and fiscal levels both on an overall basis and for each of its main tax entities, comparing them whith the most representativecountries of the European Union and the United States.
