Este artículo ofrece un conjunto de reflexiones de su autor sobre la evolución del sistema financiero con una óptica europea y española. Se destaca la necesidad de mantener una política monetaria rigurosa de estabilidad, la utilidad de contar con un sistema bancario eficiente, en el que, por otra parte, los avances en la tecnología de la información producirán transformaciones muy importantes, la conveniencia de que el sistema bancario evite la exclusión financiera y la tendencia a difuminarse de las diferencias entre los distantes componentes institucionales del Sistema Financiero.--------------------------------------------------This article offers a set of reflections by its author on the future development of the financial system from a European and Spanish viewpoint.
