Vicente Salas Fumás
(Albleda-Huesca, 1951) is a senior lecturer at the University of Zaragoza. received his PhD in Management Science from Purdue University (USA) in 1976. His academic career began as a tenured lecturer at the University of Zaragoza. He also became a professor at the same university, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and, again, at the University of Zaragoza. He also spent time as a visiting academic at Stanford and Connecticut universities. He has been a member of the Governing Council (1994-1998, 2006-2018) and the Executive Commission (2006-2018) of the Bank of Spain. He received the King Jaime I Prize for Economics, the Medal in Recognition for Professional Achievement from the Government of the Autonomous Region of Aragón, the Juan Sardá Prize for Economics, the Merit Cross for the Services to Economics, the Basilio Paraíso Medal, and Doctor Honoris Causa from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
